He has maintained membership with a number of committees in relation to Trocaire College, including the nursing curriculum committee, nursing simulation committee and nursing clinical instructor search committee. Since 2018, he has also served as an advisor to Trocaire College Men in Nursing. Writing numerous works since the inception of his career, Mr. Fisher co-authored “System-Level Awareness through Virtual Clinical Learning” in Nursing Education Perspectives in 2018. He also co-developed the “Trocaire College Catherine McAuley School of Nursing Student Success Manual,” as well as learning modules for fluid and electrolytes and endocrine health deviations. For his research, he has received several grants in his field. Amember of theNational andNewYork Leagues for Nursing, Mr. Fisher intends to complete a PhD in five years’ time. Jacob M. Fisher was always interested in the medical field; however, he wanted a more personable approach to medicine, and subsequently delved into the nursing industry. Receiving an AAS in nursing from Trocaire College in 2014, he went on to receive a BS in nursing and anMS in nursing education from Daemen College in 2015 and 2017, respectively. At the inception of his nursing career, he served as a hospital aide at the Wyoming County Community Health System from 2012 to 2014, where he later served as a registered nurse from 2014 to 2016. Concurrently, he was a professional nurse resource tutor at Trocaire College from 2015 to 2017. Mr. Fisher has remained at Trocaire College since that time, escalating through the ranks to practicum student, interim program director of the AAS Program, and faculty mentor and laboratory instructor. Likewise, he has served the College as an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing since 2017, preceptor since 2020 and program director of the AAS Nursing program since 2021.
