She has always wanted to facilitate change in mental health patients, helping them recognize their true potential and move forward with their lives with a sense of purpose and gratitude. In pursuit of her career in counseling, Ms. Patin earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Florida International University in 1990 and went on to serve myriad centers and clinics as a counselor. Since 2018, she has served as a mental health counselor at Wellspring Counseling in Miami. In her position as a registered mental health counselor, Ms. Patin specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with trauma-related concerns, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and eating disorders. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Personal Transformation Institute and equine-assisted psychotherapy through Natural Lifemanship. A native of Panama, she offers her services to both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking clients. Recently in 2020, she received a Master of Science in clinical health counseling from Keiser University. Recently married to her husband Dennis in November 2020, Ms. Patin enjoys reading, boating with her husband, gardening and playing with her dog. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue helping her patients cope with trauma through counseling and EMDR, as well as provide support for patients with other mental health concerns, such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders and eating disorders. Ultimately, she would like to leverage her affinity for helping others and create supportive, inclusive and safe environments for her patients.
