Dr. Vogel has contributed over 200 articles to professional journals and authored the book “Doctor, What if it Were Your Mother: Hope, Faith and Reason at the End of Life” in 2014. In 2021, he contributed a chapter, “Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer,” in Management of the Breast and Axilla in the Neoadjuvant Setting. Dr. Vogel is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Preventive Medicine and American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Preventive Medicine and American College of Physicians. He earned the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Johns Hopkins University, Career Development Award from the American Cancer Society, Impact Award from the National Consortium Breast Cancers, and was named a Medical Volunteer of the Year by the American Cancer Society. Dr. Victor G. Vogel is an expert on clinical oncology and epidemiology, accruing over four decades of experience in the medical field. Since 2013, he has excelled as the director of Breast Medical Oncology Research, having held positions with the American Society of Clinical Oncology Prevention Committee, American Cancer Society and University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center, where he was the director of the Magee/UPCI Breast Cancer Prevention Program and professor of medicine and epidemiology in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Public Health. Earlier, Dr. Vogel served the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston as an assistant professor of medicine and epidemiology and an associate professor of clinical cancer prevention. Drawing upon an MD from Temple University in 1978, Dr. Vogel completed a residency in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospitals in 1981 and a fellowship in medical oncology at the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center in 1986.
