Additionally, he is admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Ninth, Eleventh, District of Columbia and Federal Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Between 1969 and 2019, Mr. Greer was partner of Richman, Greer, P.A., where he focused on business litigation, professional liability defense, class action, and corporate and officer liability. Since 2019, he has served as senior counsel at Day Pitney LLC, where he specializes in complex commercial litigation. He participated in the Watergate scandal trials, and represented Al Gore and the Florida Democratic Party in Bush vs. Gore in 2000. Mr. Greer was an educator at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and was chair of the WLRN Public Radio and Television station. He is a fellow of the International Society of Barristers and the American College of Trial Lawyers, where he is a member of the complex litigation committee. He also served as president of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society and chaired the board of Camillus House, the largest provider of care to the homeless in South Florida. Mr. Greer has been honored by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Law Dragon and Florida Trend. He earned the 2018 Jurisprudence Award from the Anti-Defamation League and the 2016 David W. Dyer Award from the Dade County Bar Association. Holding an AV Preeminent Rating through Martindale-Hubbell, he authored two books, “Choices & Challenges: Lessons in Faith, Hope and Love” in 2009 and “God Is” in 2019. Serving in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1967, Alan G. Greer received a BS from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a Vietnam veteran. During his service, he visited a friend at Yale Law School, where he sat in during a law course. Finding law to be fun, he excelled at the LSAT and decided to pursue law.
