To remain abreast of developments and trends in the field, Mr. Adams has maintained membership with the South Carolina Pesticide Association, for whomhe served as the president in 1983, and the South Carolina Agricultural Aviation Association, where he was an industry representative from 1971 to 1991. Additionally, he is affiliated with Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Masons. As a testament to his success, Mr. Adams was the recipient of the Agrinaut Recognition Award from the South Carolina Agricultural Aviation Association in light of his exemplary contributions to the agricultural aircraft operations industry. Additionally, in 2019 he was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. Adams intends to ease into a welldeserved, full-time retirement. Influenced early on by his father and grandfather, who worked as farmers, Jerry L. Adams developed a grand appreciation for the agriculture industry. Deciding to delve into the field, he commenced his professional career in 1972 as an agricultural specialist for Union Carbide Agricultural Products, remaining in his role until 1986. Serving in the same capacity, he was then employed by Rhone Poulenc Agricultural Company from 1986 to 1999 and for Aventis Crop Science from 1999 to 2006. Subsequently, Mr. Adams served Bayer CropScience as a crop specialist from 2006 until his retirement in 2011. Post-retirement and since 2011, he has excelled as the owner and operator of JLA Consulting Service, Inc. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Adams is especially proud of his 2011 retirement party, during which time he witnessed more than 125 individuals from across the nation celebrate his retirement after spending 40 years in the field of agriculture.
