323 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY CONSULTING GEOLOGIST Bernalillo, NM SHIRLEY THIEDA Supported by a BA in geology from Southern Illinois University from 1967 and an MST from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 1972, Shirley Thieda is recognized as a distinguished geologist and former educator who has accrued more than five decades of experience in her field. Since 1980, she has excelled as a consulting geologist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During this tenure, she was also a senior geologist for Cactus Resources in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1984. Earlier in her career, she served as a geologist for Pioneer Nuclear Incorporated, as well as an earth science teacher at Santa Rosa Middle School and Ruidoso High School. Likewise, she was a volunteer hockey coach. Demonstrating versatility, Ms. Thieda authored the book “Fast Ice” in 1974 and is a Reiki master teacher and healer. She previously served as president and treasurer of the Albuquerque Geological Society and was an education chairperson of the Albuquerque Landsmen’s Association. A former ice hockey coach, she is a current volunteer line dance teacher at the Bernalillo Senior Center and attained fourth place in line dancing at the 2018 State Senior Olympics.
