101 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Serving the Philadelphia College of Bible (now known as Cairn University) since 1992, Dr. M. Virginia Perry has been an instructor and laboratory educator while holding concurrent duties in a myriad of other industries. Since 1984, she has excelled as an itinerant preacher, seminar leader and pastor, and previously served the Vineland Board of Education in New Jersey for nearly four decades between 1968 and 2004 as a substitute teacher and full-time teacher. Earlier in her career, Dr. Perry was a tutor and underwriter for Bridges Educational Counseling and a clerk for Bell Telephony Company. Notably, she was the first Black woman to work in the Bell office in Vineland, New Jersey. To prepare for her career, Dr. Perry pursued a formal education at Pennsylvania State University, earning an AA in horticulture in 1962. After accruing several years in her career, she returned to higher education at Glassboro College, receiving a BA in industrial arts in 1984. From there, she attended the Philadelphia College of Bible and obtained an MS in biblical counseling in 1992. In 1999, she attained a PhD in marriage and family therapy from the Union Institute of Cincinnati. Alongside her primary pursuits, Dr. Perry was the founder of the Bible Institute in Vineland in 2003, and formerly served the African American Heritage Museum as a director from 2002 to 2004. Demonstrating versatility in her profession, she has also authored various poems and published “The Soul Food Cookbook.” Although her career has been abound with highlights, she is most proud of being a mother. As a testament to her success, Dr. Perry has received several accolades, such as the New Jersey Teacher of the Year Award from the Governor of New Jersey in 1986 for her efforts at an adult learning center, as well as teaching students coursework to attain their GEDs and job training skills. In 1990, she also earned the New Jersey Black Educators Award from the New Jersey Black Educators Association. Married to the late Ronald A. Perry for 10 years, Dr. Perry has three children, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee M.
