159 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS After working in the oil industry for 40 years, Robert C. Eshleman heeded his brother’s advice and decided to delve into entrepreneurship. Previously working as an instrument technician for BP Exploration beginning in 1985, he currently excels as the founder and chief executive officer of Fireweed Farmstead, Inc., in Sterling, Alaska. He holds a fire and gas license in the State of Alaska and is certified to service and maintain fire and gas safety systems. Drawing upon an Associate of Applied Science in electronics from the University of Alaska in 1977, Mr. Eshleman also serves his community in several capacities. He was a former volunteer firefighter for the State of Alaska and a Hazmat technician for the Greater Prudhoe Bay Fire Department from 1985 to 2016, and he also donates to both the Food Bank of Alaska and the Sterling Senior Center. Maintaining membership with the AG Symposium, Mr. Eshleman has received myriad accolades from his community, including commendations from various individuals in the gas and soil industries. Notably, he earned recognition from former United States Senator Ted Stevens between 1967 and 1971 for his exceptional performance in the field. Mr. Eshleman attributes his success to his family’s encouragement, as well as the colleagues with whom he has worked over the years. One of his colleagues, Eric Ward, is credited as an inspiration to Mr. Eshleman, who was never afraid to “get his hands dirty” – something which Mr. Eshleman greatly admired. Looking toward the future, Mr. Eshleman intends to produce the finest soil products in the State of Alaska, as well as contribute to the recycling effort in Sterling. He would like to ensure that there are no aluminum cans along the highways of Alaska, which can negatively impact the environment and wildlife. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee ROBERT C.
