23 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Involved in the construction industry since his early high school years, Lee Edwin Martin began as a laborer and built several duplexes and small shopping centers. Upon his entrance in the United States Air Force in 1968, he served the military by building projects with various organizations. He also became an FAA licensed pilot for single-engine aircraft and drones. Exiting the Air Force in 1972, he was encouraged by his wife to enter the field of architecture, and thus, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in architecture from The Ohio State University in 1975. Since that time, he has been a licensed architect in the states of Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia. Previously a State Architect of Ohio, Mr. Martin worked in the architectural industry for several years before becoming the director of Florida operations at Gobbell Hays Partners, Inc., in 2005, holding the role until 2009. From 2009 to 2020, he served as a forensic expert for Robson Forensic, Inc., and since 2020, he has been the principal consultant of the Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc., in Columbus, Ohio. During his career, he also earned an MPA from Florida Atlantic University in 2005 and became a certified playground safety inspector through the National Parks and Recreation Association. Mr. Martin attributes his success to hard work and perseverance, emphasizing that he has always tried to remain at the forefront of his field. Although his career has been abound with highlights, he is especially proud of being one of the top billers in the architectural practice group for several years, as well as the #1 ranked premises liability expert of the Indiana Association for Justice. In the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, he was appointed as the chief building official of Miami-Dade County. To remain abreast of developments in the field, Mr. Martin maintains affiliation with the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Specifications Institute, ASTM International and the National Fire Protection Association, among other organizations.
