Prior to entering the realm of law, Mr. Berke pursued a formal education at the University of Virginia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1967. He went on to receive a JD from Vanderbilt University in 1970 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. To remain abreast of developments in his industry, Mr. Berke has maintained membership with several relevant organizations, such as the American Association for Justice, the American Association of Justice State Delegates and the American Trial Lawyers Association, for whom he served as a former vice chair. Additionally, he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a past president of the Chattanooga Trial Lawyers Association and the M Club of the American Trial Lawyers Association PAC, and vice chair of the Tennessee Supreme Court Board of Professional Responsibility, among other roles. In recognition of his success, Mr. Berke has received the Tennessee Supreme Court Service Award and the American Jurisprudence Award from the Bancroft-Whitney Publishing Company, and he was listed in the National Registry of Who’s Who. He holds a litigation percentage of 100% of his practice devoted to litigation.
