277 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT interest. Subsequent to receiving a JD from Duke University in 1973, he served Hamilton & Butler as an associate for one year. From 1974 to 1979, he excelled as the Assistant District Attorney for Mobile County, Alabama, where he was afforded the opportunity to represent the state on complex matters. Trying his first jury trial at this time, he was subsequently promoted to Deputy Attorney General, where he collaborated with Attorney General Charles A. Graddick, the Alabama Law Institute and legislature of the State of Alabama to re-write the state’s criminal code. Prior to entering his own private practice, Mr. Hale was partner at Hale, Hughes & Teague between 1984 and 1992. Admitted in the State of Alabama, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States, he has authored or co-authored several texts related to criminal law, including “Searches and Seizures in Violation of an Alabama Statute” in Alabama Lawyer in 1979. Likewise, he has been a speaker and instructor at Catholic churches throughout Mobile County and a lecturer for the Alabama State Bar and the Alabama Judicial College. Mr. Hale is a past vice chairman of the Mobile Bar Association and maintains membership with the Alabama State Bar Association. Although his career has been abound with highlights, he is especially proud of being the draftsman of the 1979 amendment of the Alabama Criminal Code, as it introduced him to several prominent Alabama-based lawyers. To attest to his success, Mr. Hale was named Alabamian Attorney of the Year by the Legal Services of Alabama Private Attorney Program with Fighting for Equal Justice for Low Income in 2011. He has also been highlighted in Who’s Who in American Law. Supported by more than 45 years of excellence in law, Lee L.
