Mr. McCollum served as Florida Attorney General from 2007 to 2011, where he led state attorneys general challenging the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, positioned Florida as a leader in the fight against child pornography and internet child predators, and championed a wide range of consumer protection issues. In 1980, he was elected to represent the Fifth District of Florida and later the Eighth District in the U.S. House of Representatives. During his tenure in Congress from 1981 to 2001, he served on the Judiciary, Banking and Financial Services and Intelligence committees. He was chairman of the Subcommittee on Crime; chairman of the Subcommittee on Human Intelligence, Analysis and Counterintelligence; and vice chairman of the House Republican Conference. He was one of 15 members of the House Committee to Investigate the Iran-Contra Affair and a manager for President Clinton’s impeachment trial. From 1972 to 1981, Mr. McCollum was a partner with Pitts, Eubanks & Ross, P.A., and a partner with Baker & Hostetler, LLP, from 2001 to 2007. He served on active duty in the US Navy from 1969 to 1972, and in 1992, retired fromtheNaval Reserve as a Commander, having served 23 years as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Since 2013, he has served as chairman of the Republican State Leadership Committee, dedicated to gaining and maintaining Republican control of state legislative chambers across the country and electing lieutenant governors, secretaries of state and agriculture commissioners. He holds BA (1965) and JD (1968) degrees from the University of Florida, where he was president of Florida Blue Key and a Hall of Fame member. He is admitted to The Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar.
