111 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION A licensed psychologist in the State of Illinois, Dr. Sharon Telleen has been recognized as a research associate professor emerita in the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago since 2011. Previously serving the university in such capacities as research associate professor in the Institute for Health Research and Policy, faculty affiliate in the Psychology Department’s Division of Community and Prevention Research, interim associate director for research in the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy, and one of the original faculty in the maternal and child health public health training program, Dr. Telleen developed the initial Illinois Medicaid Family Case Management System as part of the Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative. She also participated in the development of the state public health surveillance Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes Reporting System. Drawing upon a BA in education from Augustana College in 1968, and an MEd and PhD from the University of Maryland at College Park, Dr. Telleen also lent her expertise to the University of Maryland at College Park as a graduate assistant and lecturer, as well as DePaul University, where she served as a lecturer of strategies for mainstreaming the developmentally disabled. Notably, she was a Fulbright faculty sponsor for a Fulbright Scholar at the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and participated in the Fogarty International Scholars Program through the National Institutes of Health at the University of Illinois. Dr. Telleen has further lent her expertise to written works, having been a reviewer for the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved and for the Maternal and Child Health Journal. She has authored or coauthored more than 70 publications in her field, contributed articles to journals, conducted collaborative research through the American Public Health Association, and is a presenter in her field. To attest to her success, Dr. Telleen was the recipient of numerous grants and was honored in public health by Delta Omega. She credits her success to her supportive family, which includes her late husband, Philip, children Katherine and Paul, three grandchildren and her parents. SHARON L.
