113 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Desiring to enter a profession that encompassed several industries at once, George Anthony Tomezsko delved into the fields of authorship and academia. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in political science from La Salle College in 1971 and a Master of Arts in political philosophy from Temple University in 1974, he went on to become a technical writer for BIOSIS in Philadelphia in 1976. Remaining in that role for a resounding 23 years, he also served as a news reporter for the Northeast News Gleaner in Philadelphia from 1994 to 2004, an editor for Merck & Company, Inc., in West Point, Pennsylvania, from 1999 to 2001 and a technical writer for McNeil Pharmaceutical in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, from 2002 to 2003. Retiring in 2018, he concluded his career as an adjunct professor of history at Manor College in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, beginning his academic role in 2007. Concurrent to his professional endeavors and post-retirement, Mr. Tomezsko has excelled as a prolific author. He has published several books, including “Upward Journey,” “Flawed Foundings,” “Fully Occupied Years: The Rise and Fall of a Company Called BIOSIS,” “An Afternoon in May” and “Gird Yourselves for This Great Effort.” His involvement in writing began during his graduate studies at Temple University, where he worked as a reporter for the student newspaper, “The Temple News.” Alongside his primary ventures, Mr. Tomezsko has maintained affiliation with the Knights of Columbus since 1991 and has been a Deputy Grand Knight of Assumpta Council 3885 since 2016. In pursuit of political adventures, he was active in Republican Party politics in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, from 1977 to 1992, where he was a candidate for state representative in the general election of the 153rd District of Pennsylvania. To attest to his success, Mr. Tomezsko was inducted into the Honor Roll of the Chapel of Four Chaplains at Temple University in 1991. He has also been highlighted in the 57th and 58th editions of Who’s Who in America. In his spare time, he enjoys studying history and philosophy, as well as collecting unique coins.
