116 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Hailing from a lineage of educators, Jim DeJoy desired to become a teacher himself. He received a Bachelor of Arts in physical education from Ohio University in 1989 and went on to serve the Sycamore School System in Cincinnati, Ohio, for more than 30 years. Commencing his tenure as a physical education teacher in elementary schools from 1989 to 1991, he went on to serve as a physical education teacher in junior high schools between 1991 and 2015. Since 2015, Mr. DeJoy has excelled as an athletic director at Sycamore Junior High School. As a testament to his success, Mr. DeJoy was bestowed with the Educator of the Year Award from the Blue Ash Montgomery Rotary Club in 2016. He has maintained membership with several organizations over the years, including the National Athletic Directors Association and the Ohio Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Association. He is also a member of the Ohio Alliance for Health. In his spare time, Mr. DeJoy enjoys exercising and participating in a variety of sports activities. Looking forward, he intends to ease into a well-deserved retirement while also volunteering in his community. TEACHER, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR Sycamore Junior High School Mason, OH Supported by a BA from Montclair State University, a certificate in copywriting from New York University and an MLIS from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Michele Mary Dupey most recently excelled as a public information officer at the Jersey City Free Public Library from 2004 until her retirement in 2017. Prior to attaining this position, she was a media specialist at the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, assistant public information officer both the executive and legislative branches of the Hudson County government, and secretary for DDB Needham Worldwide, Inc., Advertising. She continues to serve as a freelance copywriter in Bayonne, New Jersey. Especially proud of producing 10 years of women’s history month celebrations and producing the video “What is a Freeholder?” in 1998, Ms. Dupey has produced book festivals and other library programs, including receiving a $15,000 grant from the MetLife Foundation in 2007 to benefit the “Fit for Life” program at the Jersey City Free Public Library, which she cites as a career highlight. To attest to her success, she shared the Governor’s Conference on Tourism Award for the Hudson County American Heritage Festival in 1995.
