Retiring from corporate life in 2015, she has been working toward obtaining certifications and licenses to operate an in-home cottage business related to her baking, with the desire to take the business to a commercial level within the next two years. Drawing upon a BA in biology from Maryville College, Ms. Esrey dedicates time to the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts, who recognizes her as a lifetime member. She also participates with Our Daily Bread and the Blood Bank of Delaware, and captains a team for America Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (Delaware). Ms. Esrey was named a 2003 Outstanding Volunteer by the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council, received a 2007 Accomplishment Award from DuPont’s Research and Development Division, and earned the 1997 and 2000 DuPont Agriculture Products Global Technology Division’s Achievement Award. She also earned a 2007 Crop Protection Research and Development Award. Possessing dual career paths in biochemistry and the culinary arts, Elizabeth Gove Goodier Esrey has exhibited a diversified career that has spanned over 30 years. Since 2018, she has excelled as the owner of Beth’s Homemade Goods, LLC, where she bakes delicious, homemade goods from her own home. Met with much success, she continues to bake for her local community. Previously, Ms. Esrey’s business was titled Beth’s Homemade Breads & Pies, which she founded in 1987. Ms. Esrey was a biochemist who served the Stine Haskell Research Laboratories of DuPont de Nemours, Inc., in Delaware from 1987 to 2007. Starting out as a laboratory technician, she was promoted several times, including as a chemist, biochemist of herbicide biomechanisms, biologist and plant and fungal biochemistry, and member of the safety resource team, among other positions.
