176 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Influenced by his mentors, Gary J. Yarus has pursued three distinct careers: psychologist, corporate executive and entrepreneur. At the beginning of his career in 1972, he served as a psychologist and administrator for the Day Hospital in Farmington, Massachusetts for four years. After receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1978, he began working as an assistant to the president of the Beverage Division of General Cinema Corporation in Miami, which he maintained until 1981. Since 1982, he has excelled as the president of Diversified Capital Corporation and as a Registered Investment Advisor. In his current role, Mr. Yarus has contributed to the development of small, profitable businesses. Leveraging his unique skillset and background experience, he has built four thriving businesses. He also spends time mentoring young entrepreneurs to help them build successful careers and make a difference in their respective communities. Alongside his primary endeavors, he also serves as a board member of Regency Multifamily LLC; president of the International BondedWarehouse Corporation, Xtra Storage Companies, and International Wine Storage; and is a past committee chairman of the Miami Board of Realtors. Civically engaged, Mr. Yarus served as president of the Snapper Village Homeowners Association in the early 1980s, and also flourished as the president of the Harvard Business School Club of South Florida at its inception. Likewise, he sits on the board of directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and on the board of directors of the Collegiate Learning Exchange. Mr. Yarus holds a BS from Union College from 1971, and an MEd and an MBA from Harvard University from 1973 and 1978, respectively. He attributes his success to his diligent work ethic, seizing opportunities and jumping into challenges head-on. Looking toward the future, he intends to remain active in business and his local community, as well as continue mentoring the next generation of leaders.
