Additionally, he served as vice president of the Academy for the Psychoanalytic Arts. As a testament to his success, he was named Distinguished Faculty of the Year by Rochester University in 2014, and in 2020, was recognized amongTopDocs inPsychology. Althoughhiscareer has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of penning numerous publications, as well as his tenure at Rochester University. Outside of his vocational endeavors, Dr. MacKinnon enjoys printing letters and other media with an antique printing press he purchased as a teenager. Dating back to 1886, the printing press was responsible for printing Dr. MacKinnon’s daughter’s wedding invitations in 2016. Dr. Gordon E. MacKinnon is a noteworthy clinical psychologist and former educator who has accrued more than 30 years of excellence in his field. Since 1997, he has served as a licensed clinical psychologist in his own eponymously named private practice, MacKinnon and Associates, where he provides psychological services to his patients. Concurrent to this role, he served Rochester University in Michigan as a professor of psychology for 20 years and chairman of the Department of Psychologist until 2019. During his tenure, he also directed the MacKinnon Psychologist and Counseling Clinic. Obtaining licensure to practice psychology in 1986, Dr. MacKinnon initially attended Rochester University, where he earned a BS in religious education in 1981. The same year, he received a BS in human resources development from Oakland University. Six years later, he earned an MA in marriage and family therapy from Wayne State University, and in 1997, earned a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit-Mercy. GORDON E.
