In high school, Mr. Queeman often sold cakes to students and faculty, as well as other members of the community. He attended Monroe College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in hospitality administration and management and the culinary arts in 2009. Since 2013, Mr. Queeman has served as chief executive officer of his own dessert catering company, Mr. Bake Sweets, in Landover, Maryland. Known for his mastery of baking various types of cakes, he is notable for being featured on Netflix, Food Network and Discovery Family on multiple occasions. He attributes his immense success to his natural ability for baking, his passion for the industry and his desire to make the world a better place. For his achievements, he was honored by Washington Business Pride in 2020, won the title of “America’s Best Baker” and won first place on the acclaimed television show “Bake it like Buddy.” In 2019, Mr. Queeman also received a Certificate of Recognition for community service by the Mayor of the City of Yonkers. Alongside his primary pursuits, Mr. Queeman is a member of the Capital Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and a Certificate LGBTQ+ Business with NGLCC. Additionally, he is also active with the CoCi Communities of Color Initiative. Looking toward the future of his business and personal endeavors, he intends to represent inclusivity and equity in an effort to diversify his product line and client base. Eventually, he wants to become the first Black-owned LGBTQ+ food distribution company on the East Coast, and later on, expand throughout the rest of the nation. Mr. Queeman is exceptionally proud of his roots, and wants to represent the Black and LGBTQ+ communities through his baking and achievements.
