Booth is renowned as a visionary within the entertainment industry. Commencing her songwriting career in 1985, she owned and operated Carol Marie’s Music, through which she wrote and published several of her own original songs. In 1988, she began working with famous country singer Tim McGraw, for whom she worked until 1991 as his talent manager, thereby launching his successful career. Throughout her career, Ms. Booth has worked closely with other famous figures in the country music genre, including Conway Twitty and Marty Robbins. Notably, her self-written song “Walk Under a Snake” was featured on Freddy Fender’s album “Texas Balladeer,” among other songs that she has written for several other artists. Her penchant for the creative arts stems from her childhood, in which she began writing short stories, articles and poetry as a teenager. Overcoming traumatic abuse as a child, Ms. Booth wrote her first book, “The Atonement Child: A True Story of Surviving Childhood Abuse,” regarding her own journey out of abuse and leading a fulfilling life, driven by her Christian faith. In 2013, she penned her second book, “Carol’s Mountain,” and has continued to write other books regarding her life perspectives derived from her spirituality. In the early stages of her career, Ms. Booth completed coursework in English and literature at Louisiana Technology University and in creative writing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she studied for numerous summers. She has maintained membership with the North Louisiana branch of the National League of American Penwomen and the Country Music Association, Inc., for whom she is a past member. Over the years, Ms. Booth has received a plethora of awards for her creative writing in both fiction and nonfiction categories, as well as for her autobiographical works and newspaper and magazine articles.
