56 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT An acclaimed trumpet soloist, conductor and music educator, John Paul Branzer has accrued over 60 years of experience in the music industry. Since 1965, he has served as a band director for Homestead Junior High School, and during his academic tenure, he has performed as a principal trumpeter and assistant conductor for Sunrise Symphony between 2000 and 2017. Prior to entering academia, he was first trumpet for Miami Philharmonic, the Miami Opera Guild, the Tampa Symphony, the Fort Lauderdale Symphony and the Miami Beach Symphony. Notably, Mr. Branzer was a featured soloist for the Salzburg concert series, where he performed in 40 shows. Likewise, he is especially proud of performing for Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Clinton during their time in office. Holding a Bachelor of Music Education and MusM in performance from the University of Miami, he studied under August H. Schaeffer, Dr. Modeste Alloo, Gilbert Johnson and Louis Spielman. Alongside his primary roles, he performed with the Art Mooney Orchestra for 21 years, was a principal trumpeter for Nelson Ned, and was featured in the film “Cocoon: The Return.” He has also performed on several cruise lines. MUSICIAN, CONDUCTOR, TRUMPET SOLOIST Homestead Junior High School Homestead, FL Introduced to the world of music from a young age, Robbin Jean Draper always knew she wanted to be involved in the music industry. In 1975, she obtained a BA in music education from Mid-America Nazarene University before being hired by DeSoto Elementary School and Countryside Intermediate School as a vocal music teacher in 1976. Remaining in these roles until 1983, she then served DeSoto Junior High School as a band director until 1995. For the subsequent two years, Ms. Draper was a band director for Lexington Trails Middle School, and from 1997 to 2002, for Piper High School and Middle School. Thereafter, she was a band director for Rosedale Middle School from 2003 to 2007 and for J.C. Harmon High School from 2007 to 2014. Currently, Ms. Draper serves as an instrument repair technician for Kapitan Band Instrument and maintains involvement with the Kansas City Gospel Big Band, the Yakety Saxophone Quartet and the College Church of Nazarene. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of being the first junior high band to be allowed to play in the Kansas University Band Day Parade.
