She has produced broadcasts in news media/music festivals and has received presentation grants/ awards in traditional instrumental Asian music, martial, classical/folk dances and opera/folk songs from the Sacramento Arts Council and Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. She has co-sponsored the first Asian performing arts organization with Sacramento Symphony to produce the first East/West Music Program in the Sacramento Convention Center. Diversified in three career paths – information technology, military service and the arts – Anna Yeung Mayo has excelled as an information technology specialist and consultant for the California Department of Consumer Affairs since 2003. Inspired to pursue programming after being introduced to the field by a door salesman, who initially told her she could not become one, Ms. Mayo has since flourished in the technology industry as a woman in a male-dominated field. Ms. Mayo served with the United States Air Force as a medic for 20 years and was assigned to Operation Desert Shield in 1992. During her military tenure, she established the first Hospital Medical Library at the Mather Air Force Base in 1979 and received an honorable plaque. From 1995 to 1999 in the Department of Defense’s logistic department at McClellan Air Force Base, she was elected the final transfer of function key decoration coordinator and utilized computer disks for Base closure awards.
