He has been honored by President Pertini of Italy and Prime Minister Chang of Taiwan for helping promote business relations. Mr. Maxwell earned the Silver Medal for Contributions to Trade Expansion from the People’s Republic of China in 1980 and was honored as a Commander in Order of Merit in recognition of the improvement of trade between Italy and the United States in 1985. Richard A. Maxwell commenced his career with ADG Export in 1966, introducing him to the import and export industry. A manager of international operations for the following 10 years, he was promoted to divisional vice president in 1976, vice president of international operations in 1980 and president in 1981, serving in that role for five years. During this time, Mr. Maxwell was also the executive vice president of marketing and executive vice president between 1981 and 1986 before ending his tenure with the company. A former independent consultant, Mr. Maxwell served several other corporations in executive roles, including Matol World Corporation, IGW Trust, Home Farms Technologies, Inc., Fire Block International and Zeroignition Canada, Inc. Most recently, he was chief logistics officer with Zeroignition Technologies from 2009 until his retirement in 2014.
