49 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT event with the first full orchestral reading of Herbert’s 1911 grand opera Natoma in over 100 years. She became a Herbert librettist in 1995 with a new version of Herbert’s 1903 BABES IN TOYLAND. Today, she has more than a dozen new Herbert librettos to her credit. She became a Herbert director with the composer’s THE FORTUNE TELLER in 1998 for the Little Orchestra Society of New York and a Herbert publisher in 2008 with the founding of VHSource, LLC. She enjoyed a 15-year Herbert collaboration with the talented conductor the late Dino Anagnost, resulting in 12 productions at New York’s Lincoln Center. With the 2014 production of Herbert’s 1899 operetta, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, Ms. Mott officially moved into the realm of producer. Alongside her primary vocation, Ms. Mott has served on the advisory boards of the Light Opera of New York and Main Street USA, and has been a freelance director in New York since 1978. In the 1980s, she served as vice president of evaluation of the National Musical Theatre Network, and notably, a judge of the Daytime Emmy’s of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Ms. Mott holds a BS in education from Bowling Green State University, and two MA degrees in education from the University of Michigan and Sienna Heights University. Throughout her eminent career, she has been a librettist for numerous productions, such as “The Red Mill,” “The Serenade,” “Sweethearts,” “Eileen,” “The Fortune Teller” and “Babes in Toyland,” all at the Lincoln Center. She has also been a dramatic playwright, creating “The Room” in 1999, “Harry and the Poachers” in 1996, “Stranded in Hell” in 1995 and “Four on the Fourth” in 1994. Ms. Mott was a finalist at the O’Neill Playwriting Conference in 1993, the Humboldt Playwriting Festival in 1996 and the Theater Memphis Playwriting Festival in 1997. In 1998, she won the Coe College Playwriting Festival. A worldwide Victor Herbert scholar, stage director and librettist, Alyce Mott is the founder and artistic director of the Victor Herbert Renaissance Project LIVE!, a New York City-based theatrical company dedicated to the music of Irish American composer Victor Herbert.
