107 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Drawing upon more than five decades of experience in both finance and computer technology, Julia R. Scalia currently serves as Director of the Academic Success Center at the Long Island Business Institute in New York. She previously served as a computer instructor at Professional Business College for seven years. Earlier in her career, Ms. Scalia was an instructor of computers and thesis writing at Metropolitan College of New York from 2001 to 2010. Concurrent to these roles, she commenced her professional career in 1969, serving JP Morgan Chase Bank as Vice President of the Investor Services Unit in the Employee Benefit Trust Department until retiring in May 2006. Desiring to pursue higher education during her career, Ms. Scalia completed coursework and certification programs at myriad institutions of higher learning, including St. Joseph’s College, Brooklyn College, the Penn Foster Career School, the New York Business Institute, Excelsior College, and New York City College of Technology. Ms. Scalia also holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and a Master of Science in Administration-Service Professions from the Metropolitan College of New York (formerly The College for Human Services). Ms. Scalia is a Certified Retirement Services Professional through the American Bankers Association and holds multiple certifications in Typing Speed, Access, SQL and HTML through the National Computer Science Academy. Maintaining membership with the American Bankers Association to remain abreast of developments in finance, she has been honored with numerous accolades in recognition of her success. Impressively, the Long Island Business Institute presented her an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award and Dedicated Service Award, and she also earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Alumni Association of the Metropolitan College of New York. Ms. Scalia attributes her achievements to her strong work ethic and her appreciation for the opportunities she has been afforded.
