DONALD T. WARD Dr. Donald T. Ward was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and retired in 1981 as a colonel. He won the McKenna Trophy (one of three Air Force officers ever to do so) as top fixed wing graduate of the Empire Test Pilots’ School in 1966. He was a faculty member in the Aerospace Engineering Department at Texas A&M University from 1981 to 2000, retiring after serving two years as the interim department head. He directed the Flight Mechanics Laboratory throughout his tenure at Texas A&M. During this time and afterward, he also taught courses for 35 years with the Aerospace Division of Kansas University Professional & Continuing Education. A registered professional engineer, Dr. Ward holds a BS in aeronautical engineering from the University of Texas, an MS in astronautics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a PhD in aeronautical engineering from Mississippi State University. He was awarded several medals by the Air Force, including the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Bronze Star. He also received teaching awards from both Texas A&M University and Kansas University. Inspired to enter the field of education by her parents, who both valued an excellent educational platform, Kathy A. White earned a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in 1966 and from Indiana University in 1968. She went on to begin serving North Central High School’s JEL Career Center as an instructor in business education in 1968. Maintaining the role for more than 30 years, she retired in 2000. During her tenure at North Central High School, Ms. White served Indianapolis University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) as a faculty member for six years. Named an Outstanding Alumni Business Teacher by Ball State University in 1988, Ms. White has also lent her time civically to several endeavors. She served on the advisory council for the Indiana Women’s Prison from 1983 to 2000, was a member of the alumni advisory committee for IUPUI from 1985 to 1988 and was a lifetime member of her Church of Christ and on the church board for the Zions United Church of Christ from 1982 to 1985. Over the years, she has been especially proud of influencing her students positively and fostering connections. KATHY A. WHITE
