186 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE Drawing upon a BBA in accounting from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1975, Mr. Kelling is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and certified bank auditor. Civically engaged as well, he has been a tutor for the Open Door Mission since 2015, having previously sat on the board of directors of Bay Banc Data Services. As a testament to his success in the industry, he received a Recognition Award from Beta Alpha Psi in 1975, for whom he also served as vice president and an outstanding chapter member. In addition, he has maintained affiliation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Chartered Bank Auditors, among other organizations. In his spare time, Mr. Kelling enjoys 35mm photography, and often takes photographs of wild birds. His work was featured in Ray Miller’s 1988 “Spirit of Texas” calendar. Drawing upon nearly 40 years of eminent experience in accounting, David Henry Kelling retired in 2015 as a senior financial reporting analyst for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after accruing seven years in the role. Prior to this appointment, he served as director of accounting at the University of Houston-Clear Lake between 2002 and 2008, an internal auditor for the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District from 1993 to 2002 and a senior auditor for BDO Seidman & Co. from 1992 to 1993. Likewise, Mr. Kelling excelled as a senior accountant in the division of accounting and corporate services for Resolution Trust Corporation, a certified public accountant for Tiller & Co., the principal of David H. Kelling, CPA, and chief financial officer and senior vice president of Bay Bancshares, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was a controller and vice president of the First Victoria National Bank and a senior auditor of Texas Commerce Bancshares. He commenced his career in 1976 as an accountant for the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin, Texas.
