In 2020, he published “Awaken the Three,” a sequel to “Gift of the Shaper.” Drawing upon his early interest in fantasy and adventure novels, he ultimately chose to embody those ideologies in his own work. Throughout his writing career, Mr. Jennings often sought to leave a legacy behind through which his readers could garner inspiration to make the world a better place. In the forthcoming future, he intends to publish a third novel, as well as work on a screenplay. Sent out on 11 deployments during his time in the Air Force, Mr. Jennings earned the Korean Consul General Award, 17 Air Medals, a Joint Service Achievement Medal and a Joint Service Commendation Medal. He has accrued several honors for his writing, such as the Beverly Hills Book Award, Next Generation Indie Book Award and NYC Big Book Award. When he was young, D.L. Jennings would listen to his mother reading “The Magician’s Nephew,” an acclaimed novel by noted author C. S. Lewis. As his mother was an avid reader of C. S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, Mr. Jennings developed a formative interest in the fantasy genre. Alongside his creative flair, he was also interested in military service and enlisted in the United States Air Force after witnessing the September 11th attacks in 2001. During his military tenure, he served as an airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operator. In addition, he pursued an Associate of Arts in Korean studies from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, California, in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science from Bellevue University in 2008. After departing from the United States Air Force in 2018, Mr. Jennings decided to pursue a career in authorship. While enlisted in the Air Force, he began writing what would become his first novel, titled “Gift of the Shaper.” Upon the encouragement of a pen pal who was involved in the publishing industry, who read portions of D.L.
