446 MILLENNIUM N ancy Craigmyle dedicated over four decades of her career to researching meditation and its benefits for the human body and brain. Through her profound research, Ms. Craigmyle has explored the interrelationship between the anterior cingulate cortex and the integrated central and peripheral norepinephrine system, which she believes may contribute to the positive effects of meditation. She has been successful due, in part, to her educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Columbia University and attending the University of South Carolina. From 1975 to 1979, Ms. Craigmyle was a research assistant for the department of physiological psychology at The Rockefeller University in New York.
