481 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine P sychologists like Frederick McNelly are helping people to cope more effectively with life issues and mental health problems. Dr. McNelly graduated cum laude and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, and a Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology. He has made great strides in a successful career as a research coordinator for a National Science Foundation project, a laboratory instructor and trainee for the United States Public Health Service at the University of Minnesota, and psychology teaching fellow for the University of Michigan. He was also an educational examiner for Ann Arbor Public Schools, a director of psychological services and program director at the Children’s Development Center in Rockford, Ill., and an early intervention program provider. Dr. McNelly maintained stature in his field as a consultant from 1986 to 2000 and has contributed articles to professional journals. He remains active in his field through his affiliations and memberships in several psychology-related organizations and has presented at regional workshops and conferences throughout his career. L inn Mehta, a literature educator, has been teaching students about the English language, including proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure, for over 35 years. Dr. Mehta’s extensive educational background allowed her to maintain a successful career, as she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Yale University in 1977, a Master of Arts in English at Oxford University in 1979, and a Master of Philosophy and Ph.D. in comparative literature from Columbia University in 1989 and 2004 respectively. With her newfound knowledge, she was able to secure positions as assistant to the president and assistant program officer for the Ford Foundation, a preceptor at Columbia, and an instructor at Yale. She also served as an adjunct assistant professor in the English department at Vassar College and a lecturer in the English department at Barnard College before becoming an instructor at New York University. Dr. Mehta is the author of “Poetry and Politics of Decolonization,” and a translation of “Three Beggars and a Rich Man.” She remains abreast of her field as a member of the American Comparative Literature Association.
