497 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine S tephen Ward Shambaugh is a retired lawyer with an extensive background. Beginning his career as a member staff for Reading & Bates, Inc., in 1951, Mr. Shambaugh worked his way to prominence through hard work and dedication. Soon after leaving that position, he became vice president, general manager and legal counsel for Reading & Bates Drilling Co. Ltd. Throughout his career, he has held many positions, including senior partner at Bowman, Shambaugh, Geissinger & Wright and opened his own practice in Denver, Colo., from 1981 to 1987. In addition to his legal career, he has served on the boards of many oil companies and as colonel of the United States Air Force. Mr. Shambaugh remains a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the P-51 Mustang Pilots Association, the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion, Masons, retired member of the Denver Bar Association and retired member of the Federal Bar Association. He has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in the World. I saac Shapiro serves as of counsel to the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, which he joined in 1986 with more than 30 years of experience in litigation, corporate law, and international business. Born in Japan, Mr. Shapiro was a resident partner in the Tokyo office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP from 1977 to 1979. While at Skadden, his practice focused on privatization and international arbitration involving the former Soviet Union, though several of his clients were based out of Germany, Taiwan, Italy, France and the United Kingdom. He is also a former lecturer and assistant professor at New York University and Columbia Law School, where he was the director of Russian legal studies for a year. Outside of his legal practice, he has served as a trustee of the Asian Cultural Council, Inc., a trustee and past president of the Isamu Noguchi Foundation, and a trustee of the C. G. Jung Foundation. In 2006, Mr. Shapiro was awarded for his work in fostering positive Japanese-U.S. relations with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays and Neck Ribbon by the Emperor of Japan.
