511 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine W ith a Bachelor of Science in economics fromMassachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Michael Waldman was destined to become a brilliant educator. Dr. Waldman has been teaching economics on the postsecondary level for over three decades, previously serving as a postdoctoral fellow for the department of economics and an assistant professor, associate professor and professor of economics at UCLA. He was also a professor of economics and director of the Institute for the Advancement of Economics at Cornell University, as well as a professor of economics in the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Since 1997, he has served as the Charles H. Dyson professor of management and economics in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. A former co-editor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives and associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics, he has written professional journal articles and book chapters, as well as evaluated several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Waldman, who remains active in his field through his affiliations and memberships in many economic organizations, has received numerous awards for his teaching excellence. D eward E. Walker is an anthropology and ethnic studies professor who became intellectually fascinated with American Indians at a young age. His interest and personal connection to American Indians aided in his quest to become the magnificent professor he is today. Dr. Walker obtained a Bachelor of Arts with honors and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Oregon and completed postgraduate work at Washington State University. Throughout his career, he has maintained many positions in education, including assistant professor of anthropology at George Washington University and Washington State University, associate professor at the University of Idaho and professor emeritus at the University of Colorado. He was also a prominent researcher in his field, acting as a research collaborator at Washington State University and a research associate in the population processes program at the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado. Dr. Walker, whose goal is to continue working with tribes to strengthen their treaties, attributes his success to being able to help people through the teaching and research work he has done his entire life.
