27 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine A llamay E. Anderson is a retired educator who has dedicated over 50 years to the health care field. Ms. Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, a Master of Science in education from Fordham University, and a professional management certification from Adelphi University in 1978. Once she completed her education, she became a school food service dietitian for the New York City Board of Education, which is a role she served in for 20 years. In 1988 she began teaching home and career skills at Louis Armstrong Middle School, then continued to excel, accepting positions as a special education teacher, coordinator of AIDS resources, and adjunct home economics lecturer. Ms. Anderson’s skills and expertise led her to become the owner of AEA Development Service, an organization whose mission is to provide special education, support, media, technology and instructional services, in addition to professional and leadership development. She continued expanding her repertoire when she became a professional development consultant in 1978. Although retired, Ms. Anderson remains active in her field through her affiliation with the United Federation of Teachers' Retired Teachers Chapter. She has received various awards for her tireless service to her community and field, including a Positive Image Award from Key Women of America's Concourse Village Branch and a Community Service Award from New York State United Teachers. She also supports organizations for African-Americans as a member of the NAACP, for which she has been a Women’s History Month honoree and served as health chair for 10 years, and the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., which presented her with a professional award.
