107 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine F or over 50 years, Dr. Florence L. Denmark- Wesner has been teaching undergraduate and graduate students how conscious and unconscious minds work. She currently serves as a distinguished professor and chair at Pace University. Over the length of her career, she has served in many teaching positions within the City University of New York system, more specifically as a lecturer of psychology, instructor, professor, and doctoral psychology faculty. She continues to serve the CUNY community in some capacity as an adjunct professor, which she has been since 1990. Dr. Denmark-Wesner remains involved in her field as a fellow of the American Psychological Association, for which she has served on the committee of accreditation since 1998, and was president of the international psychology division. Because of her hard work and dedication to the organization, she earned the Centennial Award in 1992 and was distinguished for her contributions to psychology in public interest. She is a member of the Interamerican Society of Psychology, the New York State Psychological Association, the Eastern Psychological Association, the International Council of Psychologists, and the Association for Women in Psychology. She was an organizer and lecturer and spoke at the International Counsel of Psychologists convention held in New York in July 2017. She has contributed to the field as an editor and co-editor of books that delve into the psychology of the mind and has also written various chapters in books and numerous articles in professional journals. She is currently working on the third edition of “The Handbook of Psychology of Women,” which was co-edited with Michele Paludi and is due to be released soon. Dr. Denmark-Wesner’s contributions and diligence have earned her several awards in her field, including the Interamerican Award in Psychology, the Kurt Lewin Award, and the Outstanding Women in Science Award.
