39 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine D r. Margaret A. Barnes is an ordained minister and the founder of Christ Centered Ministries Esprit (CCME). As a leader committed to helping people develop stronger spiritual relationships, she has participated in missions to Europe, Canada, Mexico, Greece and various regions in the United States. Her work also involves ministering to prisoners and homeless individuals, providing them with services intended to make a positive impact in their lives. In addition to being an ordained minister, Dr. Barnes has extensive knowledge of several religions and constantly analyzes scripture to gain a deeper understanding of the word of God. The book she penned, “But I Love You: How You Can Know God,” explores how people can begin to develop and embrace the type of all- encompassing faith that propels her every day and has been praised by readers as “creative and beautifully written.” Founded on a three- pronged approach that includes “the Moving Church” as a concept representing God’s infinite power and love, CCME is the vessel through which Dr. Barnes has been able to guide others in experiencing total and complete spiritual growth. To that end, she also penned “The Last One, A Bible For Dummies,” Vols. 1 and 2, completing a triad from the “Altar of God,” by Ebbie Saith. Prior to establishing CCME, Dr. Barnes founded MABarnes Consultant Associates, Inc. She was a mathematician and educator who worked in the public school system and as a mathematical statistician for both the federal and District of Columbia governments. She also served as a consultant and chief of data standards for the National Institutes of Health and a licensed insurance agent in the state of Maryland. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from North Carolina Central University and the University of Maryland, College Park, respectively, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy fromColumbia Pacific University. Dr. Barnes was the first governor-appointed woman and minority commissioner to the Maryland State Accident Fund from 1979 to 1989. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was profiled in the premiere edition of “Women of Achievement in Prince George’s County History,” published in 1994.
