142 MILLENNIUM F or over four decades, Dr. Timothy Duane Francis has cared for patients as an experienced chiropractor and diplomate in applied kinesiology. Since 1985, Dr. Francis’ private practice has offered holistic chiropractic services and instructional seminars. To prepare for his career, he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, as an honor roll student and recipient of the Charles F. Cutts scholarship, and soon thereafter, earned a Doctor of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1984. He continued to expand his knowledge by completing postgraduate work in sports medicine. Dr. Francis began teaching chiropractic techniques and biomechanics at his alma mater, the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, in the department of principles and practice. In 1985, he launched his private practice in Las Vegas, and six years later, earned an additional Master of Science in bionutrition from the University of Bridgeport. As a diplomate in applied kinesiology with certifications from the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) and the American Naturopathic Medical Board, Dr. Francis has contributed articles to professional journals, including those published by the ICAK, and served on the editorial review board of Alternative Medicine Review. He has taught with the ICAK and the Union Institute College of Undergraduate Studies and participated in a joint study with the National Olympic Training Center in Beijing. Dr. Francis is a fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture and the British Institute of Homeopathy. A past member of a number of councils with the American Chiropractic Association, he has supported many professional groups, including the Nevada State Chiropractic Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society, the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research, the International Chiropractics Association and the International Federation of Practitioners of Natural Therapeutics.
