168 MILLENNIUM F or 52 years Murray Crossley Greason Jr. has served Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, a full-service business law firm who served a wide range of regional, national and international clients, including businesses, educational institutions and governmental bodies. Before embarking on his successful legal career, Mr. Greason earned a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor from Wake University in 1959 and 1962, respectively. Thereafter, he gained admittance to the North Carolina state bar. With a focus in mergers and acquisitions, he started his professional career as an associate and diligently worked his way up to managing partner. Currently, he is retired from the firm. In addition to Mr. Greason’s law career, he imparted his knowledge to undergraduate and graduate students at Wake Forest University from 1972 to 1974 and has served on many boards in his community. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and a member of the American Bar Association; the North Carolina Bar Association; the Order of Long Leaf Pine; the Forsyth County Bar Association, serving as the president from 1986 to 1987; the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, for which he served on the board of directors and as vice chairman and chairman; the Wake Forest University Alumni Association, serving as president in 1973; the Forsyth Country Club; Phi Beta Kappa; and Omicron Delta Kappa. In 2005 he won the I. Beverly Lake Public Service Award from the North Carolina Bar Association, and he has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
