179 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine N amed 12 th District Fair Woman of the Year and included in the 2000 Notable American Women publication, Margie Handley has established herself as an estate developer and business executive. Ms. Handley is a licensed general engineering contractor who currently serves as the president of Harrah Industries and the Frank R. Howard Foundation since 1981 and 1993, respectively. She has excelled in the field as an owner and operator of Shasta Pallet Co., Lovell’s Tack’n Togs and vice president of Microphor, Inc. In addition to her previous positions, she also served as president of Hot Rocks, Inc., Willits, from 1983 to 1989, co-partner of Running Wild Ostriches from 1994 to 2009, and on the board directors of N-Tech, National Bank of the Redwoods, NBR Mortgage, Willits Electronics Assembly, Inc., and Redwood Empire Bancorp. Presently, she is a general partner of Madrone Professional Group, a position she has held since 1982. She was active on the state of California Employment Training Panel from 1993 to 1995 and was a state of California timber transition coordinator, an appointed member of the California Economic Strategy Panel, and a member of the Selective Service System’s local board for the state of California from 2002 through 2011. Ms. Handley has played an active role in her community and at the state and national levels as part of elections and campaigns for the Republican Party. She remains active in her field as a member of the Seabiscuit Heritage Foundation, which she has been a director of since 2016, and the Mendocino County Behavioral Health Advisory Board, as well as an honorary member of the Willits Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International, serving as director from 2001 to 2006 and as president from 2004 to 2005.
