379 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine B en Johnson Talbott Jr. has been litigating and providing legal services in the Louisville region of Kentucky for over 53 years. Currently a partner in Bardenwerper, Talbott & Roberts, PLLC, he handles matters of land use, planning and development; zoning; real property law; and general and basic litigation. Before establishing his career, he graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Laws in 1964. After earning his degrees, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His experience includes positions as a law clerk to a presiding justice in a Kentucky U.S. District Court, an associate, and partner at the firms of Middleton, Reutlinger & Baird; Westfall, Talbott & Woods; and Talbott & Talbott, PLLC. During his career, he has also served outside organizations in various capacities. He has held positions as trustee, secretary, vice chairman and chairman of the financial committee at the University of Louisville; president and member of the advisory board and board of directors of Louisville 15; and president, chairman and member of the board of directors of the Louisville Theatrical Association. He has also served on the board of directors of the Defense Enterprise Fund, Macauley’s Theatre, the TARC Advisory Committee, the Jefferson County Capital Construction Committee, the Louisville Orchestra, the Kentucky Arts Center, the Louisville Lung Association, and the Historic Homes Foundation. Additionally he has served as an attorney for the University of Louisville, the Louisville and Jefferson County Board of Health, Louisville General Hospital, and the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. One of the highlights of Mr. Talbott’s career was working on the terms of an agreement between the Louisville Gas and Electric Company and the Environmental Protection Agency. Named an Outstanding Man of Louisville, he remains active in his field as a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, and the Kentucky Bar Association.
