399 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine A s an assistant project managers C.L. Wales is responsible for designing revitalization projects for existing residential units, preparing proposal request documents and contracts, bidding, maintaining certificates of substantial and final completions, managing charge orders, and developing project budgets. Ms. Wales became involved in her profession because of her interest in the construction of historic buildings. Currently the assistant project manager for TXMorrow, she has solidified over 37 years of professional experience in her field. To prepare for her career she earned a Bachelor in Environmental Design fromTexas A&MUniversity and completed coursework in computer-aided design at Brookhaven College. At the start of her career she held many draftsman positions at architect companies, including Cumpton and Associates, Inc., Last Design Group/Group 4 Architects Planners, and Benchmark Design/ Build. She continued to progress in her career obtaining leadership positions such as project coordinator, project manager, protect architect, design manager, design and technical services manager, construction project manager, and construction administrator. Ms. Wales is well-known and respected for her philanthropic endeavors as she coordinated a volunteer effort to construct two showers and dressing rooms for the Friends of Parrie Haynes Equestrian Center, incorporating salvaged materials into the project. At Christmastime, she uses her artistic talents to create gift baskets for elderly residents of nursing homes and also volunteers with various groups to paint and repair residences for the elderly. The highlights of her career thus far have been working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to revitalize substandard, low-income and occupied housing, and working on military housing projects. Ms. Wales attributes her success to her diligence and knowledge of architecture and construction, and passion for her profession. Looking to the future she plans to continue working with military housing and hopes to organize a large revitalization project in one of the villages. C.L.
