406 MILLENNIUM O lle M. Wastberg is a retired communication consultant, writer and diplomat. During his lengthy professional career, Mr. Wastberg continued to excel as a jack-of-all trade. As the current president and member of the Isaac Hirsch Foundation, he began his career as a teacher of political science at the University of Stockholm. Upon serving in that position for a year, he began to delve into his literary side as a journalist for the political department of Expressen and as an editor-in-chief. Never shying away from learning, he became a research fellow at the Business Society Research Center from 1971 to 1976. As he progressed in his career he obtained many executive positions such as president, president of the board, director general and official coordinator of many companies, including Aktieframjandet, the Swedish Newspaper Promotion Association, Nordic Investment Bank, the Swedish Broadcasting Corp., the Swedish Institute Board and the Raoul Wallenberg Centennial. From 2010 until his retirement in 2011 he served as president of the Thiel Art Gallery. Mr. Wastberg’s contributions to the field earned him an award from the Swedish Marketing Group in 1982, the title of Swedish Man of the Year in 2003 as well as the H.M The Kings Medal in 2013. He is the author of various books on African problems and immigration politics and economic topics and has also written articles to professional journals in the field. He has also been an active member of his community as president and on the board of directors of the Liberal Party, vice president and political secretary of Liberal Youth Sweden, as well as on the board of directors of Friends Hebrew University Jerusalem. Mr. Wastberg has been featured in Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. Olle M.
