441 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine D idier N. Buthiau is a French physician who is currently helping citizens of the country stay healthy. Dr. Buthiau received a medical degree in 1979 and practiced medicine as an intern at the American Hospital of Paris from 1980 to 1984. He remained at the facility, serving as clinical chief from 1984 to 1988. Wanting to give back and help future doctors, he became a teaching director for UNESCO, a position he has held since 1992, and has been providing his expertise to the French health department since 1998. Dr. Buthiau has contributed his vast knowledge to the field by publishing books and articles in professional journals, as well as being an inventor. He remains active as a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the New York Academy of Sciences, and as an associate member of the American Hospital of Paris. Dr. Buthiau, a recipient of Paris’ National Academy of Medicine prize, serves as a consultant in the field, helping other like- minded doctors at various clinics and hospitals in Paris. A rthur Carmody is a successful lawyer from Shreveport, La. Mr. Carmody received a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University in 1949 and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Laws from Louisiana State University in 1952. After passing the Louisiana Bar, Mr. Carmody went on to practice at The Law Office of Wilkinson, Carmody & Gilliam, where he has remained for the duration of his career. His firm handles several types of cases and has represented clients such as The Kansas City Southern Railway and the Southwestern Electric Power Company — two of the company’s most longstanding clients. In addition to his legal career, Mr. Carmody has established himself as a writer. He is a columnist for The Shreveport Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association, as well as a legal history columnist for The Bar Review of The Shreveport Bar Association. Although his professional longevity is an achievement in itself, he has been formally recognized on a number of occasions. He was inducted into Loyola College Prep’s Hall of Honor as well as the New Mexico Military Institute’s Hall of Fame. Mr. Carmody’s diligence has been a key factor in his success. Didier N.
