453 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine P amela Binnings Ewen-Lott is a retired lawyer and author who earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, at Tulane University in 1977 and began her career as a law clerk at Harris, Cook, Browning & Barker. After obtaining a Juris Doctor in 1979 from the University of Houston, where she was part of the Order of Barons, she went on to become an associate at Kleberg, Dyer, Redford & Weil, serving in that position for a year. She continued to thrive in her field ultimately making partner with the international law firm of Baker & Botts, L.L.P. in 1989. She retired in 2004 in order to write full time. Aside from her legal career, writing as Pamela Binnings Ewen she authored a nonfiction book and many novels, including “The Moon in the Mango Tree,” which received the Eudora Welty Memorial Award from the National League of American Pen Women. Through the years, Ms. Ewen-Lott has served on the boards of directors of the Northshore Literary Society, the Tennessee Williams Festival, the Texas Association of Bank Counsel, Inprint, Inc., the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society, and Junior Achievement Southeast Texas. A t a young age, Sarah M. Finley desired to help young people and children, and to understand human behavior. As the child of a Baptist pastor, Ms. Finley learned to be humble and industrious, and to ask for God’s help in all of her endeavors. She was also taught to have empathy. For 30 years, Ms. Finley has provided support and social assistance to families and communities through managerial or direct front line service. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College and was a postgraduate matriculate at Atlanta University. Some positions she has held providing service to those in need include job placement advisor at Marsh Draughton Business College, child intake attendant at Fulton County Juvenile Court, and social services worker at the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). At DFCS, she served as an accomplished manager, motivator and trainer of personnel at Fulton County and Clayton County DFCS and as a volunteer family support coordinator with the United States Army Reserves. Ms. Finley attributes her success to receiving excellent home training, having altruistic goals and her belief in Bible verses 1 Corinthians 15:10 and Ephesians 3:20.
