474 MILLENNIUM K enneth Klauss is a composer who inherited his abilities from his musical family. Mr. Klauss’ oldest sister toured the United States with a group from the University of Nebraska and his uncle, Carl Engel, enjoyed a career as a musician and modern dance pianist. While his family has made great strides in their own musical careers, Mr. Klauss has had his just share of fame. He delved into his career in the education capacity as a piano and composition teacher, composer, teacher of music, and lecturer in dance and music history. He has been a composer of several operas, both nationally and internationally. While he has reached many heights in his career, including receiving an honorable mention in an opera competition at Ohio University in 1954, his greatest achievement is being the founder and a patron of the Klauss/James Archive and Art Museum, which opened in 1995. Mr. Klauss attributes his success to having an adequate amount of knowledge and not being afraid to take risks despite the many obstacles that he may face. P aula Sichel Kniffin is an insurance sales executive with over 50 years of experience. Now a certified financial planner, Ms. Kniffin began her career in education as a teacher for New Cumberland Junior High School from 1963 to 1964 and for Meadowbrook Junior High School from 1964 to 1967. She left that career path and became a salesperson for Claire Sobel Real Estate. From the experience and knowledge she gained in this position, she realized she had other talents and became a sales force recruiter for MONY Life Insurance from 1981 to 1982. Since 1983 she has served as an employee benefit consultant and head of the life and health insurance department for the Viking Agency, Inc. Ms. Kniffin continues to be active in her field as a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Financial Planning Association, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. To prepare for her career, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University in 1963.
