495 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine R obert Lee Schmitt served his country for over four decades. He was in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1967 to 1979 and completed two years of active duty in the U.S. Navy. With an engineer’s mindset and a knack for mathematics, Mr. Schmitt obtained an Associate of Applied Science in data processing from the State University of New York at Farmingdale, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in computer science from SUNY Stony Brook, and a Master Diploma in strategic science from the Naval War College. He also completed postgraduate work in systems engineering and general administration, and was a doctoral candidate in developmental psychology at the University of Maryland at College Park. After completing a Master of Science, he began working as a computer programmer for the U.S. Army Environmental Agency and later held several managerial and senior-level roles with the Department of Defense at Fort George G. Meade, where he served as director of the Virginia Summer Institute for Math Teachers, from 1976 until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Schmitt has been featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. T hrough dedication, perseverance and a strong work ethic, Shirley Schmitz has established herself as a powerful marketing professional. Since 1992, Ms. Schmitz has been the principal and business owner of S.G. Schmitz and Associates. She began her career as a teacher and guidance counselor at Mesa High School serving in that capacity for two years. From 1951 to 1970 she worked her way through the ranks at Field Enterprises Educational Corporation earning positions, including area manager, district manager, regional manager, branch manager, national supervisor, assistant sales manager, and national sales manager. Soon after she began working at the Encyclopedia Britannica division of F.E. Compton & Company from 1970 to 1973. She continued to excel in the field, holding several executive positions. In addition to her marketing prowess, she is the founder and managing partner of Innovators-Changemakers, LLC as well as the founder, president and on the board of directors of her non-profit foundation, the Shirley G. Schmitz Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University. Looking to the future, Ms. Schmitz intends to continue to inspire the youth to be the best they can be.
