161 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine A highly regarded writer, Connie Goodman-Milone has been published in newspapers, journals and books. She is co-author of a book, “Bereavement Poetry Project,” which is in progress. Her works appear in Poet's Corner, a Florida State Poets Association anthology, Healthy Stories, Poet's Market, Author's Voice, Today's Caregiver, New Directions/Social Work Advocate, Medicinal Purposes Literary Review, The Grief Observer and VITAS Vital Signs. For more than a decade, Ms. Goodman-Milone has been recognized as a contributor to the Letters to the Editor section of the Miami Herald. She has received numerous poetry awards for her creative works throughout her career and was selected for inclusion inWho's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women andWho's Who in the World. Ms. Goodman-Milone attended George Washington University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1985, then went on to work as a freelance writer in Philadelphia and New York City. While completing a Master of Social Work through Barry University, she served as a social work intern with the Miami VA Healthcare System. She briefly worked as a case manager in skilled nursing before pursuing a career as a freelance writer in Miami. Most recently Ms. Goodman-Milone acted as the president of the South Florida Writers Association, and she now serves as an editor of the Author's Voice newsletter and community relations director of the South Florida Writers Association. Outside of her career as a writer, Ms. Goodman-Milone is dedicated to humanitarian pursuits. In addition to being a field partner with Doctors Without Borders and hospice volunteer with VITAS Healthcare, she is past chair and director of the Creative Writing Committee with the Junior Orange Bowl and a member of the National Wildlife Federation Leaders Club. In recognition of these efforts, she was namedMarquisWho'sWho Humanitarian of the Year in 2017 and received the Eleven Year Volunteer Award fromVITAS Healthcare in 2011. Other honors include the Bill Katzker Member of the Year Award from the South FloridaWriters Association in 2003 and the 2001 Bereavement Volunteer of the Year Award.
