186 MILLENNIUM G . Austin Hay is an actor, artist, pianist, and writer with over five decades of experience in the creative arts field. To prepare for his fruitful career, Mr. Hay earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Literature from the University of Pittsburgh in 1938 and 1948, respectively, and a Master of Arts from Columbia University in 1948. He also completed postgraduate work at the University of Rochester in 1939. Mr. Hay has held many positions as producer and director for off- Broadway productions, including being the motion picture casting director for Department of Defense films and Astoria Studios, as well as a motion picture producer and director for the U.S. Department of Transportation and the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. His artwork has been featured in group exhibitions in New York and Paris, as well as permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Library of Congress. Throughout his career he has also established himself as a pianist and composer. Additionally, he has made many Broadway and television appearances and has imparted his knowledge and expertise of the field as a contributor of articles to professional journals and periodicals. His creativity and innovative thinking have aided in his successful career. He is the recipient of the Loyal Service Award from the New York Junior League, the Batholomew’s Silver Leadership Award, the Gold Medal Accademia Italia, the Smithsonian Institution Pictorial Award, the Federal Government Honor Award in Recognition of 55 Years of Dedicated Service with Presidential Commendation and an award from the Austin Hau Film Festival in 2010.
