188 MILLENNIUM W inston Haythe has served in the legal field for over 40 years. With a strict focus on environmental issues, Mr. Haythe has helped lead the way to manage and prevent concerns within the ever-changing environment. In 1967, Mr. Haythe earned a Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary and passed the bar that same year. With the credentials necessary to begin his career in law, Mr. Haythe became an associate for a law firm based in Washington, D.C., two years later. He embarked on his professional path with a focus on environmental issues when he became the senior trial attorney for the United States Atomic Energy Commission. He then took on roles as assistant general counsel and senior attorney for the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. His swift tactics and legal prowess gave him the opportunity to work with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where his career flourished for over two decades. Throughout his time with the Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Haythe was a staff director, senior attorney for enforcement policy, assistant director, and senior legal counsel. Mr. Haythe has other career-related accomplishments on his resume that are worth noting. Other than his longevity in environmental affairs, Mr. Haythe has dedicated a great deal of his time to giving back in the form of teaching. He served as an instructor of law for the U.S. Department of Justice and many other federal organizations. He also taught at several universities as an adjunct professor of law and guest lecturer. Additionally, he is affiliated with a number of philanthropic organizations in the areas of technology, education and law. With a strong religious foundation, he has served on the board of Georgetown Presbyterian Church in many positions. Mr. Haythe’s astounding four decades of success in environmental law can be attributed to his dedication to fixing the problems of the world.
