For over two decades, Ms. Israel has planned campaign strategies, coordinated campaign staffs and arranged meetings to publicize candidates or causes. To prepare for her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in 1959. In 1967, she began her career as a director of media advance for the Humphrey for President campaign, where she served from 1967 to 1968, before becoming the director of scheduling on the Bayh for President campaign in 1971. She continued working on the Humphrey presidency campaign as a political intelligence director in 1972. As she progressed in her career, she worked as a special assistant for the Jackson for President campaign, coordinator of national labor for the Kennedy for President campaign, as well as senior vice president for the Kamber Group. She served as president and chief executive officer of Politics, Inc., until her retirement in 1995. Ms. Israel has reached many achievements throughout the length of her career, including being named one of 100 Most Powerful Women by Washington Magazine in 1990, and received the Special Service Award from the Jewish Community Center in 1984. She has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Politics, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who of American Women.
