252 MILLENNIUM R etired mathematics teacher and lobbyist Cynthia MacDonald Gamblin imparted her knowledge to students for over three decades. A certified teacher in the states of Florida and Missouri and a licensed basic ground instructor, Ms. MacDonald Gamblin began her career as a mathematics teacher at Mary Institute in St. Louis from 1969 to 1970. After leaving the institute, she earned a position as an executive secretary for the Coalition for the Environment, serving in that capacity for a year. She utilized her skills from her previous positions to become the office manager for the Around the World Food Corporation. From 1973 until her retirement in 2008, she was a mathematics teacher at Dunedin High School. Ms. MacDonald Gamblin was a member of the public policy committee for the Juvenile Welfare Board in St. Petersburg from 1979 to 1998, as well as a co-chairman, legislation subcommittee member and advisor for the DHS Sailing Club. Ms. MacDonald Gamblin remains active in the field as a member of the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association, for which she was a lobbyist for the St. Petersburg chapter from 1979 to 1992, as well as Florida’s Center for Child Welfare and the Junior League of Clearwater. She has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
